Libraries Are A Changin'
A library in Arizona reorganized their collection without using Dewey's system. Another library tries to make their space look more like a bookstore. What is the future of libraries?
This awakens some tough issues for modern libraries, how do we draw people in? How do we keep them coming back? It seems wrong, and a bad strategic move, to transform libraries into Barnes & Noble. Is it just old-fashioned thinking? Am I (and these libraries resisting TOO much change) just stuck in our ways? These seem to be crucial points of interest for the future. But its good that Dewey lives on in the hearts of people today.
